Officially Mount San Antonio, but we locals all know it as Mt Baldy
Los Angeles; thanks to our areas overactive seismic fault system (the San Andreas Fault), sits just in front of a large range of mountains (the San Gabriel Mountains). On Saturday, March 10th we will venture to the highest point in these mountains, Mt Baldy (10,064 ft).
Expect the hiking conditions to be a bit cold since this hike starts at 6500 feet and it’s still officially winter, so dress warmly.
This hike is an intermediate level hike, but there are scenic chairlifts to help if needed, so scaling this hike is possible.
